By its historic, archaeological and aesthetic interest, the chapel Notre-Dame of the île Barbe deserves to be protected. It is the purpose of the île Barbe's friends Association, which aims to promote the historic knowledge of the place in order to make the maintenance, restoration and development easier to do while respecting the site. The association whose members are completely voluntary, is governed by the law of 1901, and was created in 2007.
